Switching things up a bit...probably one of my favorite mc's was/is Tragedy, aka Tragedy Khadafi, aka Tragedy the Intelligent Hoodlum aka MC J...he got his first appearance on Record I think when he was 16, on the Super Kids track "The Tragedy"(Nia 1986)...but I don't think there was much of a group, from what I hear, he's the only one rapping on it...Marley Marl Produced it and also makes some nice DJ work out of Master O.C & Krazy Eddie's "Master of the Scratch" bonus beat("Heey, I thought it was all over, over, over, over")..anyway, following this he got down with Queens DJ Hot Day to make the "Take it off Jam" where Trag is Rhyming over Spoonie G's "Take it Off"(also Produced By Marley) instrumental with Hot Day cutting from the above Super Kids track...u following me here..anyway, Trag went on to be a member of the Legendary Juice Crew, make appearances on Marley Marl's In Control Volume 1, his solo Album on A&M(with the Large Pro banger "Game Type")...skipping ahead he did a cut on the "Posse" Soundtrack, then his next album Tragedy: Saga of a Hoodlum..etc etc..u can look up his bio if need be,...I am trying to get to the Tragedy years of I'd say about 95 to 99...starting with the "Funk Mode"(Large Pro RMX)that I remember this being one of my sole reasons for me going to NY that weekend to go to Fat Beats and cop the White Label(or red label as it was on,with no writing), this was back when they were in the basement where Bobitto's Footwork would end up..keeping on subject..the War Report era..beginning of 25 to Life era....I will say this, CNN was my shit, that first record..man..NORE in his prime was just killing it..War Report and moments on his first solo record, are just so dope to me..not lyrically in Kool G Rap or Kane way..but his flow was bonkers...and Tragedy's involvement in the project is really what solidified it for me...his verse on "Stick You"...I mean, both of 'em...all flow...the above flyer I was handed at one of the RockSteady Anniversary's, it was the year after they couldn't do it @ RockSteady Park in the Bronx, I wanna say it was a bit out there...in a big like football/track field....I do remember it was around the time the "Thug Paradise" bootleg was floating around...and there were other various records, with Dj Clue Freestyles w/Mase on it...there were more like the joint s w/Iman Thug and "Alluminati" ...anyhow, years later through a friend(Slywka in beast mode) of a friend Tragedy was hounded to host one of my Mix Tapes(I wont post the mix,it's not that memorable, the cover for it is above, but it did have a nice exclusive Prodigy's "Gun Love") in return I would do a beat for him that later ended up on his 2001 Solid release..Still Reporting..it was a song called "Fall Back" that featured Havoc...and in a twist of Irony its the one song I really cant find..all my cd are boxed up and I had mixed it at The RaZor's studio so I don't even have the files...well, all in all this post was inspired out of hearing a few new CNN songs that I kinda liked and sparked me to put War Report in the car, which led me to this massive rant..

man... just giving away that funk mode joint huh? it's all to easy now. sigh...
haha..yeah I hear ya, but in all honesty, anyone reading probably already has the original in some form..and it's not like I posted the "Funk Mode" Remix with the words Nu Rave or Ed Banger or Electro in the title...now that is something that would cause more of a stir...as sad as that is to say
7L IS FINE. <3

Hey man can you please re-up some of this stuff. I just watched Tragedy's Queensbridge documentary and I'm hoping I can get my hands on some of his old material to listen to.
